BUILDING FOR TOMORRROW
I did my on the job training on Megawide Construction Corporation. We were assigned at BPO GATEWAY TOWER II at Araneta Ceter Cubao. My whole ojt experience was focused on the contractor side of the business. At first, I was astonished by the construction site because it was 2268 sq.m. and it was my first time to see at hand the beginnings of a building. We were assigned with the line and grade team, although engineers technically do not practice line and grade, I think it is essential to know how to operate so that we could grasp the concept of how the construction plan is set to motion by laying it out on site.
We were tasked to do daily report activities in which we wrote down the progress of the site on a daily basis. We rotated tasks so that we could get the general idea of how the process works. After checking the progress of vertical members, we used to follow the engineers on site and asked them how things around here works. Usually, we asked the QA/QC because, technically, they should know every detail in the site. Then the field engineer taught us the methodology of Megawide c.c. that sets it apart from other contractors.
I could say say that i've learned a lot because the things that were taught on the site is the application of what we will learn on out design subjects this upcoming year.
